Having great fun making shadow puppets and drawings for two performances of Stravinsky’s ‘Soldier’s Tale’ by Psappha ensemble on February 4th at the Anthony Burgess Centre in Manchester. Richard Suart narrates the Russian tale of a returning soldier who gives his violin to the Devil in exchange for a book that reveals how to become immensely rich. Of course, he loses more than his violin in the deal, and the Devil proves the trickiest opponent to regaining soul and happiness. A lean parable from 1918.

The concert includes the world premiere of a new work by young composer Leo Geyer, and forms part of a series exploring Music for Words. Further details and booking info: http://www.psappha.com/diary.aspx
